August 27, 2019

TORONADO was globally represented by 4 winners in a day last Saturday, with a 2-year-old double in France and two impressive winners in Australia.

Both French winners brought TORONADO 's 2-year-old tally to 9 individual winners out of 23 runners this year. TORONADO thus comforts his seats as one of the leading sires of 2-year-olds in France with an impressive 39% ratio of winners to runners. This ratio matches Siyouni's and and leaves the likes of No Nay Never, War Front, Oasis Dream, Lope de Vega, Invincible Spirit and Showcasing behind.

Both winners include Mr Robert Ng's homebred NATURAL PATH, who showed promises by winning on his debut run at Moulins for trainer HF Devin, and SPINNING MIST, a filly bred by Newsells Park Stud who scored at Saint Malo for trainer A Marcialis.

TORONADO also enjoyed a double of fillies' victories down under. The website www.championthoroughbreds.com.au reports:

After a solid win on the Pakenham Synthetic three weeks back, Greg Eurell's filly SASSY SALITAGE was heavily backed to keep her record perfect at Moonee Valley on Saturday and she did it in the style of a filly with a future.
Ben Allen parked SASSY SALITAGE on the outside of the leader, Lady Lupino before kicking clear turning for home to win by one and a quarter lengths from last season's Group II VRC Sires' Produce Stakes winner La Tene with the Group III SAJC Breeders Stakes winner Kooweerup the same distance back in third.
The daughter of TORONADO is likely to make her next start in the Listed Atlantic Jewel Stakes at Moonee Valley in a fortnight and she also holds a nomination for the Group 1 Thousand Guineas at Caulfield on October 12.
This filly has has two starts for two wins and has already secured $122,900 in prize money.

MISS HOW LONG cemented her favouritism by breaking her maiden in her third start at Toowoomba on Saturday taking her race record to 1 win and 2 thirds.
