AN EXCEPTIONAL START TO THE SEASON FOR OUR ARABIAN STALLIONS

With the European season fast approaching, the Al Shaqab Arabians stallions have been in the spotlight in the Gulf countries.

As every year, the meeting in Meydan has been marked by the success of Franco-American Purebred Arabian crosses. In line with this formula, TM FRED TEXAS (by Burning Sand out of a three-parts French dam) made a sensational debut as a world class stallion during the 2018 season. Winner of the Dubai Kahayla Classic, he has boasted exceptional success when crossed with daughters of Amer (Wafi): four of his offspring bred on this cross raced in France - three won and two are Stakes horses! They are: Daloob (2nd in the Qatar Derby G3-PA) and Marid (Qatar Arabian Trophy des Poulains G1-PAs & Al Rayyan Cup - Prix Kesberoy G1-PAs) - the leading colt of his generation. TM FRED TEXAS also sired Amir Al Cham (Qatar Derby G3-PA, 3rd in the French Arabian Breeders' Challenge - Poulains G2-PA) out of a dam with a French-Tunisian pedigree.

DAHESS proved himself a leading sire once again in 2019. Not only is he capable of siring champions, DAHESS (Amer) has regular and consistent winners on all surfaces. He remains the reference for Purebred Arabian stallions, and after 11 seasons, his popularity continues. The best French breeders have continued to support him for the last three years: Hassan Mousli, Renee-Laure Koch, the Royal Stables of Oman, Jean and Rose Cambon, Al Shaqab Racing, Al Shahania, Eric Dell'ova, Saint Faust Stud, Catherine de Robert Labarthe, Mandore Stud, Sergio Raffaello, Lisa Kippen Deymonaz, Al Asayl Racing, Robert Bourdette, Shadwell, Manuela Daverio Scharfenberg ... Only three stallions have consistently been in the top 5 leading French sires since 2011: Amer (Wafi), Munjiz (Kesberoy) and DAHESS! In 2018, his son Rodess du Loup won two G1-PAs in Europe. 2019 kicked off with Al Walid (DAHESS), 2nd in The Amir Sword Trial (G3-PA) in Doha and Fertile du Croate (DAHESS), winner of a 7f maiden in Abu Dhabi.

AL MOURTAJEZ CONTINUES TO IMPRESS

2019 will see the first foals of the Champion AL MOURTAJEZ (DAHESS) on the ground. So far, the breeders are delighted with them. This young sire covered 91 mares in the 2018. Undoubtedly, he will do as well, or better, in 2019. He ticks all the boxes to be a great stallion. He was the leading 4-year-old in France, as was the sire of the winner of the Qatar Arabian World Cup in 2018, and as was Munjiz (Kesberoy) ... Like Mahab (Tahar de Candelon), AL MOURTAJEZ won four of his five outings at the age of 4. In addition, AL MOURTAJEZ’s dam is a sister to Azadi (Darike), one of the leading French stallions, with nearly a quarter of his production boasting the all-important black type. Winner of 2.1 million euros, with the best rating in the history of Purebred Arabian racing, AL MOURTAJEZ won no less than eight Gr1s, including the Qatar Arabian World Cup twice. No other horse in history has ever done as well!
