Exciting prospects for Style Vendome in 2019

March 27, 2019

It had been over two decades since a stallion had produced a winner in the Qatar Prix Marcel Boussac - Critérium des Pouliches Gr.1 from his first two crops. Thanks to the exploits of LILY'S CANDLE, STYLE VENDOME is the first stallion to achieve this since his sire, Anabaa, in 1998.

However, LILY'S CANDLE (pictured above) is just one drop in the ocean! This young sire has a number of Classic prospects for the 2019 season coming through, such as SCHONRIED, who won on his debut by 5 ½ lengths. This colt is held in high regard by his trainer, Jean-Claude Rouget, and was given a Jour de Galop Rising Star. A maiden winner in Cagnes-sur-Mer, STYLEDARGENT was one of the stand-outs of the winter meeting in the South of France. He holds Classic entries, and his clear innate ability makes up for his inexperience. Another one that should be noted for the future is ALBORAYA (pictured below), who won her maiden by 8 lengths.

The numbers in his favour!
With a strike rate of 43% winners to runners from his first two crops, STYLE VENDOME finished at the top of the leading second-crop sire lists in France in 2018. From his first crop of 3-year-olds, he has a number of Stakes performers (STYLE PRESA, TALBAH…) and an excellent ratio of 50% winners to runners. STYLE VENDOME himself was the fastest winner of the Poule d’Essai des Poulains in the last 20 years, and the first to win both the Prix Djebel - Poule d’Essai since the legendary Kingmambo.

Concessions on his nomination fee are available for multiple bookings and for quality mares.
