Haloul in the spotlight in Qatar
Homebred HALOUL (pictured) netted a clear victory in the Thoroughbred Handicap over 10f. at Doha on Friday, to open the HH The Amir Sword Festival.
By Galileo out of Eden’s Moon, HALOUL made a winning Qatari debut on the Doha track at the end December, under the tutelage of trainer Alban de Mieulle. He won on Friday by 3.5 lengths in the hands of French jockey Ronan Thomas.
Also trained by Alban de Mieulle, AL NAAMA was only inches away from a success in the Qatar International Cup G1-PA, Saturday at Doha. AL NAAMA was also bred by Al Shaqab Racing. She is a daughter of MAJD AL ARAB and out of ENTISAR, the sister to Champions DAHESS, MUNTASAR and BIBI DE CARRÈRE. She was ridden by Faleh Bughanaim.
The older filly DALOOB finished a strong second in the Purebred Arabian Sprint Cup, over 6f. This 4-year-old is another homebred, and she was also trained by Alban de Mieulle and ridden by Faleh Bughanaim.
