Noteworthy 2YO wins for OLYMPIC GLORY and TORONADO

The last few days have seen some noteworthy winners for AL SHAQAB stallions TORONADO and OLYMPIC GLORY. 

Topical (GB) owned and bred by HM The Queen won at Thirsk in the EBF Novice Stakes over 6f. The two -year old colt trained by Richard Hannon, who trained his sire TORONADO raced prominently, before taking the lead and stayed on very well to win cosily by two lengths. 

OLYMPIC GLORY was also the sire of another eye catching winner in Athmad (Ire), who won on debut at Newbury. Athmad, a two year old colt by OLYMPIC GLORY out of BLACK MASCARA won stylishly on debut for trainer Brian Meehan, owners Araam and jockey James Doyle. Bred by Rosetown Bloodstock Ltd, and a £92,000 purchase from Goffs UK by Sam Sangster, Athmad won in stylish fashion making all, and winning by 2 and a half lengths. Trainer Brian Meehan was quoted after the race saying  “ He has always shown a lot at home, and we definitely feel he is a Stakes horse”
