Already the overall Leading Sire of 2-year-olds in France, as well as the country’s Leading 2nd-season Sire by percentage of winners and percentage of Blacktype winners to runners, ARMOR continued his outstanding run on Thursday as CANALEJAS became his second Stakes winner in the space of two days.

From only 21 runners across his first two crops of racing age this season, ARMOR has now produced two Stakes winners - a near 10% Blacktype winners-to-runners strike-rate for the Haras de Bouquetot resident.

The latest headline performer came at ParisLongchamp, where CANALEJAS landed the Prix de Pontarmé LR over 1,400 metres. The 3-year-old colt, out of Money Royale (Cape Cross), had already shown smart juvenile form last season, including placed efforts in both Listed and Gr.3 company, before returning to secure his first Blacktype success. Trained by RC. Montenegro and ridden by Alexis Pouchin, CANALEJAS races in the colours of Juan Carlos Peinado Garcia and was bred by KR. Al Mohannadi.

CANALEJAS joins unbeaten juvenile filly VALENTINA BELLA among ARMOR’s Stakes performers this season, further underlining the precocity and quality shown by the sire’s early runners.

Congratulations to all connections!
