Our WOODED not only claimed an authoritative 3,5 lengths-victory in the Gr.3 Prix Texanita on May, 13 at Chantilly, but also posted an impressive winning time. Entrusted to Chantilly-based Francis-Henri Graffard, he started his 2019 sophomore season with a second place at Dieppe, before breaking his maiden at Deauville in August and being placed in the Gr.3 Prix Texanita and Thomas Bryon. Dropping to the six furlongs trip for the first time, he displayed all his talent on his seasonal comeback and could be targeting the Gr.1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot. A Listed winner last season, the daughter of TORONADO in the care of Francis-Henri Graffard, WASMYA, finished excellent second in the Listed Prix Maurice Zilber- Fonds Européen de l’Elevage at ParisLongchamp on May, 11, only finding Group winner Spinning Memories too good on her seasonal comeback. The day after at Saint-Cloud, the André Fabre’s charge WESTEROS was an excellent runner-up in the maiden race Prix Kashmir II on his debuts and look promising for the 2020 season. Last but not least, GRAND GLORY gloriously impressed on May, 14 at ParisLongchamp to record an easy success in the Listed Prix Zarkava - Fonds Européen de l’Elevage. On sabbatical after running third in the 2019 Gr.1 Prix de Diane, the Haras de Bourgeauville-bred and Gianluca Bietoloni-trained draped out last and stayed on powerfully to win under the hands and heels of her jockey Pierre-Charles Boudot. Notre représentant WOODED n’a pas laissé place au doute le 13 mai à Chantilly, remportant de 3,5 longueurs le Groupe 3 Prix Texanita avec un impressionnant chrono. Confié à l’entraîneur cantilien Francis-Henri Graffard, il avait débuté son année de deux ans par une deuxième place à Dieppe, avant d’ouvrir son palmarès à Deauville en août et de se placer sur le podium des Groupes 3 Prix Texanita et Thomas Bryon. Raccourci pour la première fois sur 1.200 mètres, il a montré toute l’étendue de son talent pour sa rentrée et pourrait se présenter au départ du Groupe 1 Commonwealth Cup sur l’hippodrome de Royal Ascot.
Nos protégés WASMYA et WESTEROS se sont également distingués en cette semaine de reprise des courses en France. Gagnante de Listed l’année dernière, la fille de TORONADO confiée à Francis-Henri Graffard, WASMYA, a terminé excellente deuxième de la Listed Prix Maurice Zilber – Fonds Européen de l’Elevage le 11 mai à ParisLongchamp, juste derrière la lauréate de Groupe Spinning Memories. Le lendemain à Saint-Cloud, le pensionnaire d'André Fabre WESTEROS s'est montré très prometteur dans le Prix Kashmir II, n'étant devancé que du bien né Hurricane Cloud et tous deux se détachant de 2 longueurs devant le reste du peloton.
GRAND GLORY a elle aussi marqué les esprits en remportant la Listed Prix Zarkava - Fonds Européen de l’Elevage le 14 mai à ParisLongchamp. Absente de la compétition pendant 11 mois à la suite de sa troisième place dans le Gr.1 Prix de Diane 2019, la pouliche élevée par le Haras de Bourgeauville s’est hissée spectaculairement de la dernière à la première place en étant seulement accompagnée des bras de son jockey Pierre-Charles Boudot. Elle offre une nouvelle victoire de Stakes à notre étalon OLYMPIC GLORY et se dirige vers le Gr.2 Prix Corrida. Félicitations à son entourage !
