Mehmas has once again confirmed his status as a top source of precocious talent, with his two-year-olds continuing to shine across Europe this June.

At Royal Ascot on June 20, AWAKEN made a striking impression when finishing a strong second in the G3 Albany Stakes over 1,200 m. With just one previous run to her name, the daughter of Circulation (by Oasis Dream) showed maturity beyond her experience. Patiently ridden by Billy Loughnane in behind the pace, she responded well in the final stages, quickening smartly and showing real tenacity to secure the runner-up spot.

Bred by Epona Bloodstock, Awaken is trained by George Boughey and carries the colours of Highclere Thoroughbred Racing – Maple.

WISE APPROACH was already familiar with the Ascot track, having won a Class 2 there in April. The Charlie Appleby-trained colt took the step up in grade in his stride, producing an excellent effort to finish second in the Norfolk Stakes (G2, 1,000m).Given a textbook ride by William Buick, he travelled smoothly throughout to represent the colours of Godolphin. This son of Mehmas was bred by Tally-Ho Stud.

France is not to be outdone, with IMPERIAL ME CEN making his mark. Winner of a Listed race at Vichy last May, the two-year-old chestnut colt subsequently contested the Prix du Bois Longines (G3). On this occasion, he stepped up in distance by 200 metres compared to his previous three starts. A trainee of H.F. Devin and ridden by Alexis Pouchin, he broke well before settling towards the rear of the field. He produced a strong finish in the straight to challenge for second place inside the final 400 m, showing a promising turn of foot which saw him secure third place. He wore the colours of his owner and breeder, Yeguada Centurion SLU.

Attention must also be drawn to the performances of SHIRI, an unbeaten two-year-old filly in two outings at ParisLongchamp and Chantilly. Bred by Chauvigny Global & Associés, she is trained by F.H. Graffard and was ridden by Maxime Guyon on both occasions. Demonstrating great versatility, she produced two contrasting performances: held up towards the rear on her debut before powering past her rivals in the closing stages; then more prominently placed on her second outing, taking the lead early and asserting herself to win comfortably.

Congratulations to all connections of these four promising two-year-olds!
