Haras de Bouquetot is pleased to announce the 2027 stud fees for its Al Shaqab Stallions' roster, featuring an exciting new addition and proven sires available to breeders across France and beyond.
Amélie Gussago-Lemercier, Nominations Manager, shared her thoughts ahead of the new breeding season:
"For the 2027 breeding season, Haras de Bouquetot will welcome SAHLAN, France's Champion Miler in 2025 and winner of the Prix du Moulin de Longchamp Gr.1 against top-class international opposition under the training of Francis-Henri Graffard. As the first Group 1 winner bred at Haras de Bouquetot to return home to stand at stud, he is a particular source of pride for our team. With an exceptional turn of foot and a well-balanced physique, this son of Wootton Bassett will stand at €7,000 LF. He will also benefit from the strong support of Al Shaqab Racing, alongside numerous shareholders who have already committed to supporting him.
ZELZAL has enjoyed an excellent 2026 season, topping the French-based sires' rankings by both prize money and number of individual winners. With 14 individual Blacktype performers this year, including Group 1 performer Alam, as well as Mise en Boite and Shelzawa, he continues to demonstrate remarkable consistency, with an impressive 50% winners-to-runners ratio. At €12,000 LF, ZELZAL remains one of the best-value stallions in France, whether breeders are looking to produce racehorses or target the sales ring.
ARMOR continues to fulfil the promise shown during his early seasons at stud. Despite his relatively small crops, he ranks second among French-based sires of two-year-olds in Europe in 2026, behind only Siyouni, by percentage of Blacktype winners to runners. His statistics are particularly impressive, with over 9% Blacktype winners and 14% Blacktype performers among his two-year-old runners this year, including Armor Supreme and Valentina Bella. On the back of these excellent results and growing interest from breeders, ARMOR will stand at €7,000 LF in 2027.
Following a successful 2025 season, highlighted by Woodshauna's victory in the Prix Jean Prat Gr.1 and Jawwal's runner-up finish in the Prix de l'Abbaye Gr.1, WOODED continued to make his mark in 2026 with Stakes winner Woody Frangipani. With two Group 1 performers already emerging from his first crop, he represents an excellent opportunity at €5,000 LF.
AL HAKEEM will have his first foals offered for sale this December. This son of Siyouni, who covered over 180 mares during his first two seasons at stud, has received strong support from Al Shaqab Racing, who entrusted him with several of their leading broodmares. His exceptional physique and the quality of his first crops give us great confidence for the future. He will remain available at €5,000 LF.
Finally, LUSAIL will have his first two-year-olds on the racecourse in 2027. This son of Mehmas, a dual Group 2 winner at two, has already made an encouraging impression at the yearling sales, with one filly fetching €100,000 at Tattersalls. His precocity, speed and attractive fee of €4,000 LF should appeal to breeders looking to produce early-performing two-year-olds."
The Nominations team at Haras de Bouquetot is at breeders’ disposal to discuss opportunities and support their breeding plans for the 2025 season.
