A new Blacktype was the highlight of two promising juvenile performances this week for ZELZAL, placing our Haras de Bouquetot-standing sire in the spotlight.

On Wednesday, his daughter PINK ROCHE earned valuable Blacktype when finishing a strong third in the Listed Prix des Rêves d’Or - Jacques Bouchara at Vichy. Trained by Christophe Escuder, the filly showed sharp speed over the straight 1,000 metres to finish less than two lengths behind the winner in the first Blacktype contest of the season for French juveniles. Bred by SCEA Marmion Vauville, PINK ROCHE is out of Roche Limit, a daughter of Intello.

Just a day later, ZELZAL got off the mark with his juveniles this season when VOL D’AMOUR broke her maiden impressively at Salon-de-Provence. Also trained by Christophe Escuder, the filly powered clear to win by three lengths over 1,100 metres. Bred by Écurie Ades Hazan, she is a daughter of ZELZAL and Toride (Country Reel), and becomes the first two-year-old winner this year for her sire.

Congratulations to all connections and to the breeders of both fillies.
