Our stallions jumped into the new year with a collection of victories, starting with MEHMAS who acclaimed Group performances on December, 30 and January, 1st. The first to receive the honors was Stakes winner TURN ON THE JETS who finished third in the G2 Joe Hernandez Stakes on December, 30 at Santa Anita, USA. TAJ DRAGON inaugurated the first day of the year with a victory in the G3 Chinese Club Challenge Cup over 1,400 meters, his fifth Hong-Kong success at Sha Tin to become the 26th Stakes winner of MEHMAS. Our Tally-Ho Stud-resident was also responsible for a 1-3 on January, 3, Joseph and Adrian Reid three-year-old bred MAMALOUKA breaking her maiden tag at Kempton, UK and Abbas Akbar Al Muila Muila-bred RISING FORCE finishing third. HALE END put the final touch of the week when defeating his 11 rivals at Newcastle, UK on January, 4 to offer a second career-win to breeder Paul McEnery.
Haras de Bouquetot’s resident OLYMPIC GLORY started the week with a triple of winners on January, 4 in three different countries. In France, Eric Puerari-bred four-year-old QUE VENDRA broke her maiden tag at Marseille on her third start, in the UK, P. Sabban-bred ELEVEN ELEVEN made a successful seasonal comeback at Newcastle while in Australia, ALWAYS IN was back to winning ways in a handicap race at Muswellbrook. Our stallion completed also a double of scorers on January, 7 at Livorno, Italy, BILLY THE GLORY and DORICO both scoring a handicap race over 1,500 meters.
Last year also ended-up in the best conditions possibles, courtesy of three-year-old BOZZO who posted a third career-win at Deauville, France on December, 28 for Gousserie Racing and three-year-old FAL D’ARA who crossed the finish line first at Dos Hermanas, Spain on December, 30.
Haras de Bouquetot-based ZELZAL congratulated LE PHOCEA who broke his maiden tag on his first start of the 2024 racing season, reaching first the 2,000 meters of Pau, France for breeders P. Lamy and Horse & Feed CV. It was also a winning star of the year for AL WUKAIR’s TREZY BOUNTY who defeated 14 rivals at Pornichet, France on January, 7 to record his first career-victory for breeder E. Feurtet.
GALILEO GOLD ended-up 2023 in style with four-year-old FALLON coming home first in a 1,600 meters handicap race at Sha Tin.
