Afjan's Stakes performance highlights Mehmas' week

MEHMAS continues his relentless run of form with another productive week, headed by a smart stakes effort from our homebred AFJAN.
Raised at Haras de Bouquetot, our Group-winning 3-year-old colt made a pleasing seasonal return when finishing third in the Prix Ronde de Nuit LR at Chantilly over 1,100 metres, shaping as a horse firmly capable of earning further black type in the months ahead.
Earlier that day, PHIL'S DREAM, bred by Cn Farm Ltd, added further gloss with victory at Wolverhampton over 1,000 metres.
The week had begun on Wednesday at Newcastle, where LIQUID COOLED, a three-year-old colt out of Leen (Danehill Dancer) bred by Stefan Hahne, got off the mark in a 1,200-metre handicap.
Thursday saw further success for the Tally-Ho resident at Chantilly as SYNARAN, out of Syrdarya (Invincible Spirit) and bred by H.H. Aga Khan, landed the Prix du Lieutenant over 1,600 metres. Later that day at Chelmsford, DENVER DOLL, a three-year-old filly out of Desert Lantern (More Than Ready) bred by Tally-Ho Stud, struck over 1,400 metres.
Friday’s action took the MEHMAS tally to new heights. At Fontainebleau, HOW ARE YOU, out of Pardoven (Clodovil) and bred by Ringfort Stud, captured the Prix de l’Hippodrome de Rambouillet over 1,200 metres. A few hours later at Southwell, LA BELLE FOREST, out of Hard Forest (Hard Spun) and bred by Tally-Ho Stud, shed her maiden tag over 1,000 metres.
The week concluded on Saturday at Southwell, where PENNY TIME, a three-year-old colt out of Penny Pepper (Fast Company) bred by Owenstown Bloodstock, completed the sequence with a win over 1,600 metres.
MEHMAS was the leading European sire of sprinters in 2025 by earnings and number of winners, and in 2026 he currently heads all European sires by number of winners & by earnings.
