Our stallion AL MOURTAJEZ continues to dominate the international scene and the bloodlines, with a Group 1 double during the H.H The Amir Sword Festival. Still in Qatar, MISTER GINOUX places two of his progeny on the podium, while the aura of DAHESS continues to shine at the highest level in Saudi Arabia, during the Saudi Cup Festival.
1-2-3 for AL MOURTAJEZ in the H.H. The Amir Sword (G1-PA)
Third leg of the Triple Crown, the prestigious G1 H.H. The Amir Sword run at the Al Rayyan racecourse in Qatar, was particularly anticipated this year, as it was the final race on the sporting agenda of Al Ghadeer (AL MOURTAJEZ). Our champion was overtaken in the final metres to finish strong second behind a flourishing five-year-old Lippo de Carrere (AL MOURTAJEZ). Al Ghadeer, the Arabian Legend, nevertheless exits through the front door among the greatest champions to have carried our colours, and will begin his new career as a stallion at Haras de Bouquetot, France.
Lippo de Carrere, the winner, is a son of AL MOURTAJEZ who had already distinguished himself at the highest level this summer at Doncaster in the G1-PA UAE President Cup – UK Arabian Derby. The Dell’Ova family’s representative recorded on February 14 a third consecutive Group victory thanks to a splendid finishing straight, as well as a Group 1 double.
HM Alchahine completes a podium entirely dominated by AL MOURTAJEZ, taking third place for his breeders H. Mousli and N. Mousalli. Touted for a clash of titans against Al Ghadeer, he was beaten in the final metres.
A Group 1 double for AL MOURTAJEZ
Small in stature but immensely talented, Chdia (AL MOURTAJEZ) made her mark on Saturday, February 13 at the Doha racecourse in Qatar, in the Qatar International Cup (G1-PA), securing her seventh win from eight starts. Homebred, she is a daughter of AL MOURTAJEZ from the family of our other stallion TM Fred Texas. Now a Group 1 winner, she suffered her one and only defeat last October at ParisLongchamp, France, when she finished second by a short head in the Qatar Arabian Trophy des Juments (G1-PA), won by our homebred Ajmah (AL MOURTAJEZ ).
Two of MISTER GINOUX's progeny on the podium
MISTER GINOUX also shone during this prestigious H.H. The Amir Sword Festival meeting by placing two of his runners on the podium of the H.H. The Amir Silver Sword. The Haras de Mandore’s representative, Geina (MISTER GINOUX), confirmed her consistency by finishing second ahead of Dawod (MISTER GINOUX), bred by Al Wasmiyah Racing.
DAHESS continues to make an impression at the Saudi Cup
Our late stallion DAHESS, sire notably of Al Mourtajez, has among his progeny the globe-trotter First Classs (DAHESS), who has once again confirmed that he is a horse for the biggest occasions. Already a two-time winner of the Dubai Kahayla Cup (G1-PA) and the Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Jewel Crown (G1-PA), First Classs has now added the Obaiyah Arabian Classic (G1-PA) to his record at the Riyad racecourse in Saudi Arabia, in the manner of the very greatest at the age of 9. He carries the colours of his owner-breeder Deborah Mihaloff, alongside Alan Kirshner.
