Armor, 3rd Blacktype in 3 days!

ARMOR’s exceptional run continued on Friday at York as ARMOR SUPREME became his third Blacktype performer in the space of three days, narrowly denied in the Marygate Fillies’ Stakes LR over 5 furlongs.

Already the overall leading sire of two-year-olds in France and the leading second-season sire in the country by percentage of winners and Blacktype winners to runners, the Haras de Bouquetot resident is enjoying a remarkable sequence with both his current juveniles and first three-year-olds.

Just two days after unbeaten filly VALENTINA BELLA secured Listed honours in the Prix des Rêves d’Or LR at Vichy, and one day after CANALEJAS landed the Prix de Pontarmé LR at ParisLongchamp, ARMOR SUPREME added another major result at Pattern level.

The daughter of Hayaku (Arch), bred by J & F Reilly, had created a strong impression when winning on debut at Goodwood earlier this month and confirmed that promise at York in a highly competitive Listed contest. Ridden by Rossa Ryan, she travelled prominently throughout before striking the front inside the final furlong, only to be caught in the final strides and beaten a short head by Love A Giggle.

Now trained by Diego Dias for Team Valor International, Diego Dias and M. Eves, ARMOR SUPREME becomes one of two Royal Ascot prospects among ARMOR’s current two-year-olds, despite the sire having had only seven juvenile runners from his second crop to date.

That crop has already produced four individual debut-winning juveniles (VALENTINA BELLA, AIX LES BAINS, EPIFAGNA and ARMOR SUPREME) underlining both the precocity and consistency shown by ARMOR’s runners this season.

Across his two crops of racing age in 2026, ARMOR is now operating at over 14% Blacktype horses to runners, an exceptional statistic for a young sire with limited numbers.

Congratulations to all breeders and connections!
