Leading French freshman sire ARMOR added another dominant success to his record on Tuesday, as NOCTURNE BLOU recorded her fourth career win in the Prix de Sault at Vichy, drawing clear to score by 6½ lengths.
Trained and owned by Stéphane Gouvaze, the consistent filly made virtually all under Fabien Lefebvre and powered clear in the straight to easily account for her rivals over the 1600m trip. She was bred by Elevage de la Croix de Place and F. Carle, and is out of Jimaliyah, a daughter of The Gurkha.
This latest success confirms the strong start made by ARMOR at stud. The Haras de Bouquetot-based stallion currently tops the French first season sires’ rankings both by earnings and number of individual winners. He also leads the European freshman sires’ list by winners-to-runners strike-rate (with 5 or more runners), with an outstanding 43% of his runners already off the mark.
Congratulations to all connections.
