Armor’s exceptional juvenile strike-rate continues with fourth debut winner

ARMOR’s remarkable start with his second crop gathered further strength on Monday as EPIFAGNA became his fourth individual two-year-old winner from just six runners - an outstanding 67% winners-to-runners strike-rate for a numerically modest generation.

The latest success came at Tarbes in the Prix d’Odos over 1,100 metres, where EPIFAGNA, a two-year-old filly out of Fedya (Mastercraftsman), made a winning debut for trainer A. de Watrigant. Racing for a partnership including SCEA Carant and Michel Dardenne, she showed professionalism first time out to prevail in a tight finish.

Bred by SCEA Haras de Gratte Panche, Michel Dardenne and S. Torgeman, EPIFAGNA becomes the latest juvenile scorer for ARMOR, following the earlier debut-winning successes of AIX LES BAINS, VALENTINA BELLA and ARMOR SUPREME.

What makes these results particularly notable is the efficiency of the crop. Despite limited numbers, ARMOR’s second generation is already delivering at a striking level, with four individual winners from six runners, all successful at two and all scoring on debut.

ARMOR had already attracted attention in 2025 when finishing as the leading sire of two-year-olds in France by statistics, notably represented by a multiple Blacktype filly from his first crop. His current juveniles now appear to be building strongly on those early foundations.

Congratulations to the breeders and all connections!
