Blossom of Stakes performances

Double of Stakes performances in a day for MEHMAS, starting with the Group victory for his tough three-year-old BELIEVING who completed her impressive resume with the G3 Prix Texanita at Chantilly, France on May, 19. The Cloneymore Farm Ltd-bred followed-up a 1,200 meters Listed victory overseas to become MEHMAS’15th representative to score at Group or Graded Stakes level. A few minutes later at York, UK, Tally-Ho Stud’s juvenile GAIDEN finished strong third in the Listed Marygate Fillies’ Stakes on his first attempt at Stakes level and second start only.

MEHMAS doubled-down with two four-year-old international winners on May, 18, MASH MEDIA getting the best over her 10 rivals at Firenze, Italy and DEAR BEAN breaking her maiden tag at Lone Star Park, USA. R. Roberts-bred BICEP made a winning seasonal comeback at Musselburgh, UK on May, 15 to claim a fourth career-success and two-year-old ASADNA broke his maiden tag by 12 eye-catching lengths at Ripon, UK on May, 21 for breeder Aughanmore Stud.


There was more Stakes glory celebrated for our homebreds, with our two-year-old BALSAM showing plenty of speed on her third career run to score in Stakes company at Vichy, France in the Listed Prix des Rêves under the ride of Clément Lecoeuvre. Bred at Haras de Bouquetot and entrusted to Henri-François Devin, she is a daughter of Wootton Bassett out of BEA REMENBERED, herself dam to our very own Royal Ascot Group performing juvenile AL JOHRAH.

A few days later, our homebred son of ZELZAL MAWHOB allowed apprentice jockey Matteo Benoist to win his first AFASEC school race at Saint-Cloud, France, with our colors carried to victory in this trial race on May, 18.


Our Haras de Bouquetot-based stallions AL WUKAIR, ECTOT and ZELZAL had all the pleasure of celebrating a new Stakes performance this week. Dual winner at Cagnes-sur-Mer at the start of the racing season, the Haras de Saint-Voir’s three-year-old KNOCK ON keeps on the good notes to finish close third against the colts in the Listed Prix de Pontarmé at ParisLongchamp, France on May, 18, becoming ZELZAL’s seventh blacktype performer. On the same day, Pretrucs Breeding Inv. Ltd’s three-year-old MONONOF was back to the winners’ enclosure at Lyon-Parilly, France for a second career-success.

AL WUKAIR’s SWEETHEART was already placed at Listed level last season and was back to the game when finishing third in the 1,400 meters Listed Prix Maurice Zilber at ParisLongchamp, France on May, 18 for breeder Haras de Saint-Julien. She was followed-up by AL JOY who crossed the finish line first in Italy on May, 20 in a 2,000 meters handicap race at Milano.

Third musketeer was ECTOT with his three-year-old daughter BEIRUT who finished runner-up in the Listed Premio Mario Incisa della Rochetta at Milano, Italy on May, 20 for breeder Giuseppe Rosati-Colarieti.


GALILEO GOLD was also represented in Italy by four-year-old SOPRAN PULCINELLA and SOPRAN PECHINO who was respectively winners at Milano over 1,400 meters on May, 14 and at Roma over 2,400 meters on May, 21. On the other side of the Channel sea, the honors were grabbed by MARSH BENHAM who defeated 11 rivals in a handicap race at Chepstow, UK on May, 16 for breeder Padraig Williams.


Haras de Bouquetot-based OLYMPIC GLORY also extended his record with the fifth career-victory of JL Giral’s OLYPA at Lyon Parilly, France over 2,400 meters on May, 20.
