ZELZAL, currently the leading sire of three-year-olds in Europe ahead of MEHMAS, continued his strong run with three winners in the space of two days, headed by a highly promising filly at Chantilly.

The standout came on March 23 at Chantilly, where CHARMING ZEL, a three-year-old filly out of Sunshinesonleith (Danehill Dancer), made a taking impression when opening her account over 1,300 metres. A homebred for Chauvigny Global Equine (S. Desmontils) and trained by M. Seror, she built on a promising debut effort to show clear progress dropped in trip, travelling strongly before asserting 300 metres from home and, as noted by Jour de Galop, “staying on gamely to score with style.” Bred by S. Desmontils, Mme C. Fretard and Mme C. Baranger, she shows plenty of scope to improve further.

On the same card, ZELORO, out of Al Hamla (Medaglia d’Oro), recorded a valuable success in the Prix de la Rue des Potagers over 1,900 metres. Racing for Stall Perlen AB and trained by P. & J. Brandt, he was bred by Ecurie Biraben and A. Gilibert.
The sequence had begun the previous day at Mülheim, Germany, where SONIC BOOM, a three-year-old colt out of Sojourn, scored over 1,500 metres for his owner-breeder Gestüt Schlenderhan, from the yard of P. Schiergen.
These latest results once again underline the depth and consistency of ZELZAL’s runners, who continue to deliver across different countries and categories.
Congratulations to all breeders and connections!
