Faraday and Louiza complete a homebred double in France
Our homebreds FARADAY and LOUIZA provided a double in France on Sunday, with victories at Strasbourg and ParisLongchamp representing two different generations of horses bred and raced in our colours.
The afternoon began at Strasbourg, where two-year-old FARADAY recorded his first career success in the Prix de l’Europe over 1400 metres.
Making only his second racecourse appearance, the Henri-François Devin-trained colt scored by two and a half lengths under Hugo Boutin. A son of Thunder Moon and Al Johrah, by Bated Breath, FARADAY was bred by Al Shaqab Racing and made a quick return to the track following his debut at Deauville last month.
Later in the afternoon, LOUIZA recorded her second consecutive victory with success over 2000 metres at ParisLongchamp.
Trained by Mikel Delzangles and partnered by Pierre-Charles Boudot, the three-year-old filly followed her maiden victory at Vichy in August with another winning performance, this time stepping up to Class 2 company.
LOUIZA is a daughter of our leading stallion MEHMAS and the Galileo mare Msaikah. Bred and raced by Al Shaqab Racing, she has now won her last two starts.
The pair completed another rewarding homebred double for our colours in France, both of them having been raised at Haras de Bouquetot, France.
