First foal welcomed for Armor

Our Haras de Bouquetot was in full swing on last Saturday with a cold but friendly 2023 edition of the French Stallion Trail, offering the opportunity for our stallions to show and meet breeders. Only son of NO NAY NEVER standing in France, our precocious Group winner and G1-placed juvenile ARMOR also welcomed his first foal born at Normandie Breeding. Our stunning stallion is entering his second season at Haras de Bouquetot for the fee of €5,000.

Our Haras de Bouquetot-based ECTOT congratulated three-year-old RUN AHEAD who posted a new impressive victory. Well-named bred and owned by Claudio Marzocco, she broke her maiden tag by 2,5 lengths over the 1,500 meters of Cagnes-sur-Mer, France on January, 18. In 2022, ECTOT registered 49% winners to runners with his first two crops of runners and sired his largest book of 154 mares with a fertility rate of 95%.

Our Haras de Bouquetot-based ZELZAL was already the sire of 5 blacktype performers from two small first crops of racing age last season, including Group winners DOLCE ZEL and OURAIKA. He fetches a higher ratio of Group winners than NEW BAY, SEA THE STARS, CAMELOT, DARK ANGEL, SIYOUNI and LOPE DE VEGA when nearing 10% blacktype to runners. He has served the most mares in France in 2022, covering his largest book to date and recorded a new winner on January, 19 at Cagnes-sur-Mer, France with Haras de Saint-Voir-bred KNOCK ON who opened her winning account at first asking with an easy margin of 1,5 lengths.

Sire of 5 Stakes performers in 2022 from 2 crops of racing age, ZELZAL secured a rate of 47% winners to runners with his first three-year-olds last season. SUNDAY IN PARIS followed the same successful rhythm when crossing the finish line first at Roma, Italy on January, 20 for breeders Langlais Bloodstock and Ecurie du Graal.

Sire of 23 Stakes performers lifetime and four G1 performers, our Haras de Bouquetot-based OLYMPIC GLORY was also honored in Italy with the success of BAILEYS OLYMPIAN over the 1,600 meters of Siracusa on January, 21.

Newly arrived at Haras de Bouquetot, the exciting GALILEO GOLD was the first freshman sire to produce a G1 winner in Europe in 2021, courtesy of G1 Phoenix Stakes hero EBRO RIVER. He numbers 8 blacktype performers and 43% winners to runners with his first two crops of racing age, with his most important book of 163 mares served in 2022 at Tally-Ho Stud with a fertility rate of 93%. Last week, he was seen in the winners’ enclosure with Vereright Ltd-bred HERETIC who opened his winning account in a handicap race at Newcastle, GB on January, 20.

Tally-Ho Stud-based MEHMAS secured a double of winners on January, 17 with five-year-old KIM WEXLER and MEHMO both scoring at Southwell, UK. Bred by Kilmoon Syndicate, the first named collected a fourth career-win, as did Tally-Ho Stud-bred MEHMO. Five-year-old CHEMEH joined the race when winning over the 1,500 meters of Siracusa, Italy to end the week on January, 21.

Congratulations to all connections!
