Group 1 Double for Our Homebreds
Our Purebred Arabian homebreds secured both Group 1 races at Saint-Cloud Racecourse on Friday, October 2, opening in the stellar fashion the prestigious Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (Gr.1) weekend, while also providing our stallion Mister Ginoux with another Group 1 success.
MSAIEED got the ball rolling with a strong victory in the Qatar Arabian Trophy des Poulains (Gr.1-PA). A winner at Tarbes on his second start last August, he claimed his first Group 1 victory by a commanding two lengths on just his third career start and his first attempt at the highest level. Trained by Thomas Fourcy, our homebred was ridden by Jean-Bernard Eyquem.
BALSAM continued to fly our colours at the highest level just a few minutes later, claiming the fillies’ equivalent, the Qatar Arabian Trophy des Pouliches (Gr.1-PA), in impressive fashion. A daughter of our stallion Mister Ginoux, our homebred had finished second on her second start in the Al Rayyan Cup – Prix Kesberoy (Gr.1-PA) last August, having made eventual winner Alkrar work hard for his victory. She emphatically set the record straight to secure a Group 1 victory of her own, trained by Xavier Thomas-Demeaulte and ridden by Pierre-Charles Boudot.
