Homebred Dnipro makes a winning debut at Saint-Cloud

Our homebred DNIPRO became the latest winner raised at Haras de Bouquetot with an encouraging debut success at Saint-Cloud Racecourse on Friday, landing the Prix Helissio over 2,400 metres.
Trained by André Fabre and ridden by Alexis Pouchin, the son of Galiway and LUCKY LYCRA (OLYMPIC GLORY) made a highly professional first appearance in testing ground conditions. Sent straight to the lead, DNIPRO set the tempo throughout before finding more in the straight to score on debut in the Al Shaqab Racing colours.
In a field of 11 newcomers, the colt showed both maturity and stamina, qualities that suggest there could be plenty more to come as the season progresses. His success continues a particularly pleasing spell for our homebred programme, following recent victories from ALAM in the Prix Greffulhe Gr.3, AFANDY in the Prix Djebel Gr.3, and debut scorers CHEERIO and DEMAH.
