The first yearlings by LUSAIL have made a promising start in the sales ring, with representatives of his debut crop attracting attention on both sides of the Channel.

At the Tattersalls Somerville Yearling Sale, a daughter of LUSAIL out of Linea Blu realised 50,000gns. Bred by Benoît Girres, Blanche Carré-Pistolet and Xenia Stadnitsky Kolendo, the filly was consigned by S Fanning Sales and purchased by J B Bloodstock.

Her result followed an encouraging first appearance for the stallion’s progeny at the Arqana V.2 Yearling Sale in Deauville. A daughter of LUSAIL out of Qurtajana changed hands for €32,000, having been bred by Haras de Castillon, Audrey Leyval and Clément Tropres.

The only son of MEHMAS currently standing at stud in France, LUSAIL was himself a precocious and high-class juvenile, winning both the July Stakes Gr.2 at Newmarket and Gimcrack Stakes Gr.2 at York at two before confirming his ability at Group 1 level at three.

With his first crop now beginning to make an impression in the sales ring, attention will soon turn to the racecourse, where LUSAIL’s first two-year-olds will represent him in 2027.
