By mid-September, Mehmas has been represented by several winners among his two- and three-year-olds, including:
At Doncaster, McMurray, a two-year-old colt, recorded back-to-back victories when scoring under B. Loughnane for trainer G. Boughey, carrying the colours of his owner-breeder Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum.
At Punchestown, La Fogata broke her maiden under C. Keane for trainer G. Lyons, racing in the silks of owners M. & T. Wachman, M. Duffy and M. O’Reilly Hyland.
Among the three-year-olds, Poschiavo produced a fine performance at Chantilly when taking a Class 1, having already finished placed twice at Listed level. Partnered once again by M. Velon, he runs in the colours of Mr. Lutz Bongen for trainer M. Nigge.
And at Newcastle on September 11, Monsieur Bondy, bred by Bond Thoroughbred Limited, gained his second successive victory. The G. Oldroyd-trained runner was ridden to success by P. J. McDonald in the colours of his breeder.
