Strong returns for yearlings by Armor at Osarus
ARMOR’s outstanding season on the track was reflected in the sales ring at the Osarus Yearling Sale, where yearlings by our Haras de Bouquetot resident were in strong demand across the two-day auction.
Four of his progeny finished among the ten highest-priced yearlings of the sale, including two of the top four lots, while his nine yearlings offered recorded a €32,000 median and €28,500 average – figures well above the overall sale – providing an excellent return for breeders who supported him.

Leading the way was lot 189, a filly out of Babel, offered by Haras de Castillon. She realised €55,000 to Mandore International Agency, making her the second-highest priced yearling of the entire sale.
She was followed by lot 158, ARTEMISIA MALPIC, a filly out of Nuwaies consigned by Haras de Montaigu, who was knocked down to Florent Gavilan for €40,000. Lot 63, a colt out of Maiti presented by Haras de Grandcamp, reached €38,000 to Gary Bloodstock, while lot 101, a colt out of Peppermint from Haras de la Viette, completed ARMOR’s quartet in the top ten when selling for €32,000 to FR Bloodstock/N. Perret.
The results come at an exciting time for ARMOR, whose second crop has been delivering consistently on the racecourse. His current two-year-olds include Blacktype winners & Group performers ARMOR SUPREME and VALENTINA BELLA, while BIG JET PLANE recently became his third Blacktype performer from just 20 juvenile runners.
The Osarus sale also proved a particularly successful one for the Al Shaqab stallion roster, with progeny of our stallions filling the top three positions.
The only yearling by MEHMAS offered topped the entire sale at €61,000. The filly out of Sundaze was consigned by Haras de Castillon and purchased by Mandore Agency / Salvador Dink. ARMOR’s €55,000 daughter of Babel filled second place, while ZELZAL completed the podium with lot 79, a colt out of Moonlight In Paris who sold for €45,000 to Christophe Escuder.
Remarkably, all three of the sale-topping yearlings by MEHMAS, ARMOR and ZELZAL were presented by Haras de Castillon. Our congratulations and thanks go to their team, as well as to all the breeders who supported our stallions and to the buyers whose investment contributed to a strong and dynamic market.
For ARMOR in particular, the sale provided another significant endorsement. With four yearlings among the sale’s top ten and a €32,000 median, his results in the ring are proving every bit as compelling as the statistics being delivered by his progeny on the racecourse.
