Wooded's Texas Wood breaks his maiden at Pau

TEXAS WOOD, a two-year-old colt by WOODED out of TEXALILA (SUNDAY BREAK), opened his account today with a confident victory in the Prix d'Arudy on the Pau all-weather track.

Bred by SCEA des Prairies, he carried the silks of Mme Sophie Midy, trained by Jean-Claude Rouget and was partnered by Jean-Bernard Eyquem.

Patiently ridden throughout the 2,000-meter contest, TEXAS WOOD delivered a decisive turn of foot in the final stages to score on just his second career start.
