Zelzal's Piana strikes at Saint-Cloud

PIANA got off the mark on Friday at the fourth attempt, landing the Prix des Trois Roses d’Argent at Saint-Cloud in the colours of Écurie des Forêts for trainer Nicolas Caullery and rider Anthony Crastus.

The daughter of ZELZAL and RESTLESS LOVE (LE HAVRE), bred by B. Jeffroy, J.-M. Aimé and SCEA des Prairies, broke well and raced in midfield before being switched wide 350 metres out. She stayed on strongly to get on top close home, scoring by a head in the 1,200-metre contest run on soft ground.
