ZELZAL confirmed his position as the leading sire of 2yos in France – ahead of proven stallions such as Mehmas, Wootton Bassett and Kingman – when registering a 13th individual juvenile winner this season as MEISHO SUGAR broke her maiden at Vichy in the Prix de la Besbre over 1600 metres.
The filly, bred and owned by Yoshitaka Matsumoto, is out of Meisho Miralda, a daughter of Intello, and was confidently ridden by Eddy Hardouin for trainer S. Kobayashi. Having shown promise on debut at the same track last month, she took a big step forward to defeat her rivals and open her account.
These latest results for ZELZAL on the racecourse were echoed in the sales ring, where Hubert Guy Bloodstock went to €50,000 and €42,000 for two of his yearlings during today’s Arqana V2 Sale in Deauville.

Congratulations to all connections!
