On Tuesday, ZELZAL recorded his first winner of the day with BARISTO, a two-year-old colt making his fourth start. Ridden by Jean-Bernard Eyquem, he carried the silks of his owner-breeder Mme Waltraut Spanner for trainer Jean-Claude Rouget.
By ZELZAL out of BANGALORE (KINGMAN), Baristo came home in front in the 1,800-metre Prix Raymond Godinez, a contest restricted to two-year-old colts and geldings.
The podium was completed by two further representatives of Al Shaqab stallions, with PAS DE VAGUES, a colt by WOODED out of ZAHIYA (INVINCIBLE SPIRIT), finishing second, and PIKES PEAK, by ROMANISED out of ROCHE AMBEAU (CHICHICASTENANGO), in third.
Congratulations to all connections!
