Zelzal & Wooded progeny make a strong impression in the ring

Offered by his trainer Mikel Delzangles at the Arqana Sale on Monday, CHIBITTY a 3-year-old gelding by ZELZAL out of AMESA SPENTA (Slickly) attracted plenty of interest following a productive autumn campaign, which included a Class 2 victory at Lyon, a Listed placing at Chantilly and a third place in the Gr.3 Prix Perth at Saint-Cloud. He was knocked down for €230,000 to Dermot Farrington, acting for Fitri Hay.
Earlier in the session, SPANISH PRINCE, a 3-year-old gelding by ZELZAL, stepped into the ring for Ludovic Gabdin. After two consistent seasons under his trainer, including a 2-year-old win at Mont-de-Marsan he has shown strong staying qualities. He was purchased for €140,000 by Nathaniel Barnett Bloodstock acting for William Sangwin.
AMILCARE, a 3-year-old colt by WOODED out of MONTJESS (MONTJEU), also drew attention. Presented by his trainer Mario Baratti following his victory in the Prix Mont-Griffon at Chantilly on the all-weather at the end of October, he was secured for €125,000 by First Consulting.
