3 Stakes performances in a few days for TORONADO

Our Haras de Bouquetot-based stallion TORONADO celebrated a third Stakes performance in the space of a few days, including 3-year-old Stakes scorers in both hemispheres. Three-year-old AMAZONIE became her sire’s 21st individual blacktype winner when winning authoritatively the Listed Prix Petit Etoile on November, 24 over the 1,900 meters of Deauville racecourse. Bred by Stilvi Companiera Financiera and Alain Jathière, she has a tally of 5 wins and 4 places out of 10 starts. She followed up the steps of TREASURED STAR and SOLAIA who respectively won the G2 W.A Guineas and finished runner-up in the Listed Crown-Jungle Mist Classic at Ascot, Australia on November, 20.

TORONADO additional heroes of the week including nearly a winner per day, with victories all around the planet. Down-under, JECKYLL’N’HYDE broke his maiden tag at Hamilton on November, 22 while IT’S TORNADO STORM swept away everything in its path to open his winning account at Geelong on November, 23. ELUDING secured his second consecutive success over the 1,400 meters of Sandown on November, 24 and MARIAMIA was a first time winner over the 1,200 meters of Moonee Valley on November, 26. The Australian round of wins ended up with HYPERCANE who broke his maiden tag at Morphettville Parks on November, 27.

On the other side of the Channel, Howses Stud-bred BEGGARMAN secured a back-to-back victory at Chelmsford, UK on November, 26 and in Hong-Kong, SIGHT SPIRIT posted a first win out of three starts over the 1,400 meters of Sha Tin racecourse.

Last of the weekly series was our two-year-old homebred JOUZA who broke her maiden tag at second asking in the Prix du Rond Alicante over the mile of Chantilly on November, 27. Entrusted to Henri-François Devin and with Clément Lecoeuvre in the saddle, she became TORONADO’s 6th two-year-old winner of the year.


Second homebred winner of the day at Chantilly was courtesy of AL HAKEEM who posted a strong performance to land the Prix du Rond du Chêne on November, 27. In the care of Jean-Claude Rouget and with Coralie Pacaut aboard, our two-year-old bred at Haras de Bouquetot looks promising for the next season.


There was more two-year-old celebrations this week with Tally-Ho Stud-based MEHMAS who congratulated MARITIME RULES when breaking his maiden tag by more than 4 lengths at Chelmsford, UK on November, 26 for breeders GHS Bloodstock and Tally-Ho Stud.
