4 blacktype winners in a week for Toronado

Homebred MIGDAM joined the ranks of new first crop winners for ZELZAL when breaking his maiden in style at Kempton, UK on September, 2 and defeating opposition by over 2 lengths on his second start only. Entrusted to Sir Michael Stoute and ridden by Richard Kingscote, he was raised at Haras de Bouquetot and is out of the New Approach mare ASYAD and sibling to Stakes winner KATARA. MIGDAM becomes ZELZAL’s 6th individual winner from 14 runners, boasting a 43% strike rate with his first crop of 2-year-olds.

TORONADO celebrated no less than four Stakes winners in a week, and his 16th and 17th blacktype scorers worldwide. Following the Group successes of both MASKED CRUSADER in Australia and homebred TORO STRIKE in England, TUNED scored her first career Stakes in the Listed Old Nelson Stakes on August, 31 at Colonial Downs, USA under the ride of José Ortiz. Our homebred five-year-old entrusted to Graham Motion is a daughter of TORONADO out of Breeders’ Cup winner ZAGORA. Already a multiple Stakes-placed, including second in the G3 Prix des Chênes, the Mrs F. Perree-bred three-year-old MOUILLAGE finally overcame all opposition when capturing the Listed Prix Millkom at La Teste-de-Buch on September, 2 to become TORONADO’s 17Th blacktype winner worldwide. Third blacktype performer was TORQUE POWER who finished third at Praha, Czeh Republic in the Listed CK Martin Tour on September, 5.

Our Haras de Bouquetot-based stallion had plenty more international victories to celebrate this week, starting in Australia with PARTY IN STYLE crossing the finish line first on September, 5 at Devonport Synthetic and TRAMONTANA opening his winning account on August, 31 at Ballarat Synthetic. On the other side of the Channel sea, three-year-old CHAVAJOD defeated his 11 rivals at Roscommon on August, 30 for The National Stud while three-year-old PRONTISSIMO started September with a success in a handicap on September, 2 at Ascot for breeders BBB Ltd et Let’s Get Racing Limited. In France, consistent Mandore International Agency-bred MONA LISA KLAXON collected her third consecutive victory on August, 31 at Dieppe, and a fourth in total.

There were more successes to the credit of SHALAA with his three-year-olds, with two winners in France in as many days. Ecurie des Monceaux-bred GRACE SHELBY broke her maiden tag at third asking over the 1,200 meters of Argentan racecourse, while Scuderia Bolgheri-bred KOLKA opened her winning account at Dieppe.

Tally-Ho Stud-based MEHMAS and GALILEO GOLD had both one juvenile winner this week, with SASSY RASCAL opening the score for MEHMAS and breeder Deer Forest Stud at Lindgield, UK on September, 1st and GALILEO GLASS collecting a second success for GALILEO GOLD and breeder Tally-Ho stud at Thirsk on September, 4th.

In France, OLYMPIC GLORY’s DUCHESS OF GLORY bred by F. Bragato was a second time scorer at La Teste-de-Buch on September, 4th.
