G1 victory for TORONADO

Splendid Group 1 victory for our Haras de Bouquetot-based TORONADO with TRIBHUVAN storming home to win the G1 United Nations Stakes in spectacular fashion on July, 17 at Monmouth Park, USA, a few weeks only after his second place in the G1 Manhattan Stakes at Belmont, USA. TRIBHUVAN is TORONADO’s second Group 1 hero of the year as our stallion was already represented at this level of the competition with MASKED CRUSADER, winner of the 2021 G1 William Reid Stakes.

Stellar TORONADO enjoyed plenty of other scorers all over the planet this week, with three-year-olds PIT VIPER and ZORRO’S GHOST crossing the finish line first in Australia on July, 13 respectively at Ballarat and Albury. MRS WHITTEN followed their lead when breaking her maiden tag at Devonport, Australia on July, 18. In France, Haras d’Haspel-bred GALAXIE QUEST was a first-time winner at Aix-les-Bains on July, 14 and Framont Limited, M. Matthew and M. Beaumont-bred MON OURAGAN registered his sixth victory at La Teste-de-Buch on July, 16. On the other side of the Channel sea, three-year-old BAKE did not let a chance to his opponents in the maiden stakes of July, 14 at Yarmouth to win by a highly impressive 9-lenghts margin for breeder Mrs T. Brudenell & Lilborn Estates.


Tally-Ho Stud-based freshman sire GALILEO GOLD celebrated a Stakes performer with promising two-year-old HELLOMYDARLIN displaying a beautiful final effort to grab the third place of the G2 Prix Robert Papin on July, 18 at Chantilly, France for breeder Tally-Ho Stud and trainer George Boughey. A few minutes later, the same duo also enjoyed a second career success for UNCS at Redcar, UK.


Highflyer MEHMAS had a tremendous week highlighted by two Stakes victories. Two-year-old CATURRA won the Listed Rose Bowl Stakes at Newbury, UK, the exact same race won last year by MEHMAS’ METHOD, excitingly giving to the Tally-Ho Stud-based stallion a victory in this Listed with members of both his two first crops. A few days later, MEHMAS recorded his 14th individual Stakes winner with only two crops of racing age with juvenile BEAUTY INSPIRE landing the G3 Anglesey Stakes on July, 17 at the Curragh, Ireland.

On the same day, MEHMAS collected a total of 5 winners, with three-year-old MEHMO opening his winning account at Doncaster for breeder Tally-Ho Stud and two-year-olds GUBBASS, PHRYNE and NEPEUTE crossing the finish line first respectively at Newbury, UK, Doncaster, UK and Varese, Italy. Tally-Ho Stud-bred juvenile TAJ ALRIYADH also had the honors when displaying all his talent to open his winning account at first asking with a 4-lenghts margin at Catterick, UK on July, 14. The three-year-old generation was not to be outdone, with a trio of winners on July, 15. Tally-Ho Stud-bred CAPTAIN VALLO opened his winning account in a handicap at Hamilton, UK, Old Carhue Stud-bred TAKEKO received the honors at Ovrevoll, Norway and Olivier Donlon-bred talented MARSABIT secured a second consecutive victory at Leicester. Last of the winning saga was three-year-old MOONSHINER who was a first time winner at Yarmouth, UK On July, 14 for breeder Drumlin Bloodstock.


RULER OF THE WORLD had a couple of winners at Killarney, Ireland this week with B. Schone-bred LA PETITE COCO claiming by 2 ¼ lengths her second win out of 5 starts on July, 12 and Michael Ryan-bred MONAS MELODY getting the best of his opponents on the following day.


OLYMPIC GLORY had a collection of three-year-olds winners in France with A. Macdonald and Stratford Place Stud-bred RUWA breaking his maiden at third asking on July, 12 at Granville and Haras de Saint Julien and Cocheese Bloodstock-bred TRULY GLORIOUS storming home on July, 18 at Pompadour with a 5 lengths-success recorded.
