The Group 2-PA Qatar Prix de l’Élevage run today in Toulouse, France, saw a 1-2 finish for our stallions and two podium spots for our homebreds. INTISAR DE MONLAU, a four-year-old filly by AL MAMUN MONLAU, claimed first place, securing her second consecutive Group 2 victory and the fourth Group win of her career from just six starts. Bred by Marie-Ange and Robert Bourdette, she hails from the renowned "Monlau" family of dual Group 1 winner JUGURTHA DE MONLAU, who is also a son of our stallion AL MAMUN MONLAU.
Finishing second was our homebred HAJMAH, by our Haras de Thouars-based stallion AL MOURTAJEZ. Trained by Thomas Fourcy and ridden by Fabrice Véron, she was a Group 3 winner in her previous start and now boasts two Group placings from just four outings. She is a daughter of G1-PA winner EASTER DE FAUST and was closely followed by NORMA AL MAURY, who also carries our colors. A G1-PA winner at Saint-Cloud in 2023, NORMA AL MAURY now holds five additional Group placings under the care of Xavier Thomas-Demeaulte.
In the second race of the day dedicated to Purebred Arabians, the Prix de l’Hippodrome de Toulouse-Marie-Ange Bourdette, our homebred AL THEEB took the honors, with KHALIF, another son of AL MOURTAJEZ, finishing runner-up. Trained by Thomas Fourcy and ridden by Fabrice Véron, our four-year-old AL THEEB broke his maiden tag at his second start. He is out of the dual G1-PA-placed mare THEEBA, who is also the dam of dual G1 winner METHGAL (TM Fred Texas).
Congratulations to all the connections!
