New Group winner for Shalaa

Already among the leading sires of 3-year-olds with his first crop of runners, SHALAA celebrated a new Stakes winner this week with Classic prospect NO SPEAK ALEXANDER from Mountarmstrong Stud. Listed-placed at two, she made a beautiful winning seasonal comeback in the G3 Athasi Stakes on May, 3 at the Curragh, Ireland to claim at career high and punch her Classic ticket for the G1 Irish 1,000 Guineas.

Additional scorer of the week for our Haras de Bouquetot-based stallion was three-year-old MISSION ACCOMPLISE who defeated his 11 rivals at Rome, Italy over 1,600 meters.


There were more Stakes celebrations for our colors this week too, with QAYSAR claiming a 1 ¼ lengths-victory in the Listed The Spring Trophy Stakes at Haydock, UK on May, 9. In the care of Richard Hannon and ridden by Joe Fanning, it was a ninth career success for our strong 6-year-old bay.


Also well in the lead of the sires of 3-year-olds with their first crop of runners, Tally-Ho Stud-based MEHMAS recorded an international week of victories, including a double on May, 4. Philip Wilkins-bred VIRGINIA PLANE was back to winning ways with a dead-heat at Lingfield, UK while a few minutes later, SCEA des Prairies and Ecurie de Castillon-bred CHEZ PIERRE easily remained undefeated in 3 runs at Fontainebleau, France and is now targeting the G3 Prix Texanita. Third hero of the week for MEHMAS was I AM MAGNETIC who proved his magnetism to the winning post when crossing the finish line first at Milano, Italy on May, 9.


Three-year-old SALT LAKE opened OLYMPIC GLORY's weekly winning mark when scoring at Fontainebleau on May, 5, with our Francis-Henri Graffard-trained and Pierre-Charles Boudot-ridden homebred daughter of Orayda enjoying the longer trip. Raised at Haras de Bouquetot, she grew up with another three-year-old homebred winning filly by OLYMPIC GLORY in NATAGO, who broke her maiden tag at Nort-sur-Erdre on May, 8 on her second start only. Daughter of the Zamindar mare Barenia, she is entrusted to Mathieu Brasme and was ridden to victory by Tristan Baron.

In France, four-year-old Haras du Cadran and Mrs. M. Stadelmann-bred SILVER SCHNOK was a winner on May, 9 at Cavaillon over 2,200 meters while on the same day on the other side of the planet, OCTAVIAN was securing his sixth career success at Sunshine Coast, Australia. OLYMPIC GLORY’s ABSOLUTE GLORY made no exception when claiming a second consecutive win at Gatton, Australia on May, 7.


Four-year-olds I’M ON BREAK and CORNER POCKET stood for our Haras de Bouquetot-based TORONADO this week in Australia with respectively a third victory at Gunnedah on May, 3 and a fourth consecutive win at Warrnambool on May, 5. Two-year-old MISS CLEOPATRA also displayed all her talent to remain unbeaten in two starts in France on May, 9 at Bordeaux-le-Bouscat with the Haras du Grand Lys and G. Berardelli-bred looking to have a bright future.


It was an international double of winners for RULER OF THE WORLD this week on May, 4 with PINEAPPLE EXPRESS showing plenty of speed at Gowran Park, Irlande and NORTHERN RULER opening his winning account at first asking at Chantilly for breeder Stall Ullmann.
