Splendid Group performances for our colors and stallions

Splendid week for our colors, starting with a Group 1 victory for GALILEO GOLD’s EBRO RIVER in the Irish G1 Phoenix Stakes. SHALAA’s WELWAL followed the lead when breaking his maiden on debut in the coveted Prix de Crévecoeur with the Jean-Claude Rouget trained, Cristian Demuro-ridden and Oceanic Bloodstock, Mrs A. Gravereaux and OTI Management-bred two-year-old making a strong impression over the 7,5 furlongs course at Deauville, France. Third musketeer was SHAIKHA who beautifully earned a TDN and JDG Rising Star title following impressive victory on debuts at Deauville, France. The two-year-old filly in the care of André Fabre and ridden by Hugo Besnier never seemed endangered in the Prix de Lisieux, easily landing the 6 furlongs event by 3 lengths. Bred by Haras du Cadran and Ecurie Melanie, she is by Ribchester out of the Makfi mare KERILA.


Europe’s first juvenile G1 was impressively won by GALILEO GOLD’s EBRO RIVER who paid tribute to his sire under our colors and benefitted from a change in tactics to storm home in the G1 Phoenix Stakes over 6 furlongs at the Curragh, Ireland. Trained by the same trainer Hugo Palmer as his father was before him, he was ridden by Shane Foley and bred by Tally-Ho Stud where GALILEO GOLD is successfully standing.

Second Group victory of the week and third blacktype winner for freshman sire GALILEO GOLD was two-year-old OSCULA on August, 3 at Deauville, France who bravely fought off opposition to land the G3 Prix Six Perfections under the ride of Ryan Moore. Bred by Padraig Williams, she offered a first Group victory to her trained George Boughey.


RULER OF THE WORLD celebrated a new Group victory with his daughter LA PETITE COCO recording a splendid 5-lenghts victory in the G3 EBF Give Thanks Stakes at Cork, Ireland for breeder B. Schone. Already a G3 scorer, three-year-old NORTHERN RULER completed his tally with a new Stakes performance when finishing third in the G3 Prix de Reux over the 2,500 meters of Deauville, France racecourse on August, 8 for breeder Stall Ullmann.


Undefeated two-year-old ZELDA was once again an easy winner on her second start for her sire Haras de Bouquetot-based ZELZAL and confirmed all esteem from his trainer Jean-Claude Rouget when displaying once again a beautiful turn-of-foot. Bred by SCEA Des Prairies, Ecurie de Castillon, Benoit and Thomas Jeffroy, ZELDA offered a new victory to champion Tony Parker.


Haras de Bouquetot’s highly impressive TORONADO celebrated a new Stakes performance with three-year-old highly consistent MOUILLAGE finishing a close third in the Listed Prix ARQANA – Prix Tourgéville at Deauville, France for breeder Mrs. F. Perrée. On the same day, three-year-old BAKE collected a second consecutive victory in a handicap at Doncaster, England for breeders Mrs T. Brudenell and Lilborn Estates.

In France, three-year-old MONA LISA KLAXON bred by Mandore International Agency was a third time scorer at Dieppe on August, 2. On the other side of the Channel sea, three-year-old INNSE GALL was also seen in the winners’ enclosure at Ayr on August, 7 for breeder Harts Farm Stud while on the other side of the planet, multiple scorer ZORRO’S DREAM added a new victory to his collection over the 1,100 meters of Flemington on August, 7.


OLYMPIC GLORY counted on a new Stakes performer this week when three-year-old WALDERSEE finished a strong runner-up in the Listed Hoppegartener Flieger-Preis at Hoppegarten, Germany on August, 8. On the same day, four-year-old MISS FEYA got the best over her rivals at Lignières, France and three-year-old GIANNAH crossed the finish line first at Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic. OLYMPIC GLORY also celebrated two winners at Newcastle city on both sides of the world, Rosetown Bloodstock Ltd-bred ATHMAD winning on his seasonal comeback on August, 2 in the UK and SON OF SOMPSON defeating his 9 rivals on August, 7 in Australia. In Australia still, FLYING SCOTSMAN crossed the finish line first at Tamworth on August, 6 while in France, two-year-old bred by SCEA Haras de Victot JOOMANA broke her maiden tag at Le Lion d’Angers on August, 4.


SHALAA continues to impress with his two-year-olds, starting with Mrs M. Campbell Andenaes-bred LACUNA opening her winning account in the Prix de Falaise in fine style over the 1,400 meters of Deauville on August, 7.


Tally-Ho Stud-based MEHMAS’ three-year-old FOOLS RUSH IN added a fifth victory to his tally by 2 ¼ lengths in a handicap at Haydock, England on August, 7.
