Double of Stakes performances celebrated down-under for our impressive Haras de Bouquetot-based stallion TORONADO on November, 20 at Ascot, Australia with TREASURED STAR brilliantly scoring the G2 W.A. Guineas and SOLAIA finishing a strong runner-up in the Listed Mist Classic. Three-year-old TREASURED STAR stamped her credentials as a rising star when defeating her 13 rivals to collect a first Group victory and a third career-win, followed a few minutes later by four-year-old SOLAIA, already a dual Listed winner in 2021 and placed second in the Listed Mist Classic on her seasonal comeback.
Additional victories of the week for TORONADO included a triple of winners in a day on both November, 19 and November, 21. Down-under on November, 19, three-year-old CHARM AND DISARM broke her maiden tag at Terang at second asking only, GLOVES ARE OFF proved best against 11 rivals at Moonee Valley to open her winning account and LA SPEZIA was a third time winner at Moonee Valley, with a second consecutive victory to her credit. Second trio on November, 21 started with three-year-olds DISENGO who broke his maiden tag at Belmont Park, Australia and BUZZ OF NEW YORK who crossed the finish line first at Del Mar, USA. Third musketeer was four-year-old CAPTAIN WIN who prevailed in the $1,570,000 handicap race at Sha Tin, Hong-Kong. The round of victories ended with four-year-old BANDERAS who broke his maiden tag at Sandown, Australia on November, 17, imitated a few minutes later by three-year-old LULLABY who was victorious at Livorno, Italy.
Consistently one of the leading European sires by number of Stakes winners and with 42% winners to runners lifetime to his name, OLYMPIC GLORY keeps the score with new victories collected this week. In France, three-year-old TOP GLORY secured a second success on November, 15 at Le Mans for breeder BS Racing SARL and Ecurie La Boetie-bred BLACKIRON was seen in the winners’ enclosure for the third time on November, 21 at Bordeaux-Le Bouscat.
