2 Blacktype in a day for Ectot & Toronado

Two Blacktype celebrated in a day for our Haras de Bouquetot-based stallions, with a first blacktype performance for ECTOT and a third G1 victory for TORONADO.


Seven days after his victory in the G3 Maurice McCarter Stakes, SHELBY SIXTYSIX proved best when impressively storming home to win the G1 Galaxy at Rosehill, Australia. He became TORONADO’s third Group 1 winner worldwide, following the steps of G1 Moonee Valley winner MASKED CRUSADER and G1 United Nations Stakes scorer TRIBHUVAN.

Additional winners of the week down-under for TORONADO included LONADO at Toowoomba on March, 19, three-year-old DON DIEGO who lost his maiden at Racing.com Park on March, 17 and EAGLES FOREVER who flew home at Penola on March, 18. In France, Hubert Honoré and ND Bloodstock Ltd-bred SPORT COUPE was a first time winner at Marseille-Borely in a 2,000m handicap race on March, 17.


Two-lengths winner on his debuts, our homebred BENNETOT honorably became ECTOT’s first blacktype when finishing runner-up in the Listed Prix François Mathet at Saint-Cloud, France on March, 19 on his second start only. His trainer Edouard Monfort emphasized on his quality and his action following the race.

Additional homebred winner was AL HAKEEM who scored again at Chantilly, France. Our Jean-Claude Rouget trained three-year-old displayed a powerful turn-of-foot on his third run over the mile to carry our colors to victory under the ride of Cristian Demuro.


Haras de Bouquetot-based ZELZAL was seen in the winners enclosure at Marseille Borely, France on March, 17 following the second consecutive victory of PERLE ROUGE, a three-year-old filly bred by the family Collet.


OLYMPIC GLORY celebrated a double of winners on March, 20 with Select Bloodstock Ltd-bred OLYMPIC TROPHY claiming a first success over the 2,400 meters of Lyon-Parilly, France and three-year-old WILD GLORIA getting the best of her rivals over the 1,400 meters of Krefeld, Germany. MILANOLIGHT ended the week with a success in Italy, over the 2,500 meters of Milano.


Tally-Ho Stud-based MEHMAS ended the week with the fourth-career success of Tally-Ho Stud-bred KHABIB in a handicap race at Newcastle, UK and started the weekend with the victory of three-year-old APOLLO GLEAM at Siracusa, Italy over 1,800 meters.
