First Stakes victory for Zelzal

First Stakes victory celebrated for ZELZAL with his two-year-old daughter ZELDA storming home to win the Listed Prix Saraca at Chantilly, France on October, 9. Belonging to the first crop of our Haras de Bouquetot-based stallion and bred by SCEA des Prairies, Ecurie de Castillon, Benoit and Thomas Jeffroy, she is now a winner in three of her four starts.


Freshman sire AL WUKAIR collected his tenth winner of the season, with two-year-old YELLOW CURRY opening her winning account by an easy 2 lengths at Chantilly, France on October, 5 after a second place on her debuts.


Homebred two-year-old SHALAA’s TAFSER broke her maiden tag over 9 furlongs at Lyon-La Soie, France on October, 8 for trainer Didier Guillemin and rider Clément Merrill. Additional success of the week for our Haras de Bouquetot-based stallion took place on the other side of the planet with two-year-old OKAMI MISS collecting a first win on October, 10 at Hawkesbury, Australia.


Also bred at Haras de Bouquetot, our OLYMPIC GLORY’s three-year-old homebred DHAHABIA broke her maiden tag by 2 lengths over the 6,5 furlongs of Saint-Cloud, France on October, 7 under the ride of Michael Barzalona and the training of Henri-François Devin. Sire of recent G1 Prix Jean Romanet winner and G1 Prix de l’Opéra runner-up GRAND GLORY, OLYMPIC GLORY celebrated a second winner on the very same day with four-year-old TEPEKA securing his third success in a handicap race at Saint-Cloud, France for breeder Haras de Mandore.

With OLYMPIC GLORY sporting a 40% winners to runners ration with his first four crops of racing age, he also recorded this week in Australia the victory of LORD OLYMPUS at Warwick Farm on October, 4 and the success of OLYMPIC TIME at Port Macquarie on October, 8.


Tally-Ho Stud-based MEHMAS celebrated two Stakes victories this week, starting with MALAVATH who beautifully landed the G2 Critérium de Maisons-Laffitte at Chantilly, France on October, 9 on her first attempt at this level of the competition. This two-year-old filly was bred by Tally-Ho Stud. Second Stakes winner was courtesy to multiple Group-placed POWER UNDER ME who displayed all his talent to win by 2 ¾ lengths the Listed Testimonial Stakes on October, 10 at the Curragh, Ireland, with the Ms Barbel Reiss-bred three-year-old defeating a field of 14 rivals. On the very same day and racecourse, juvenile TARTAN SKIRT bred by Tally-Ho Stud opened his winning account at second asking with a strong 2 lenghts-margin.

MEHMAS also collected a duo of winners on the other side of the Channel sea, with three-year-olds COOPERATION and DHA LEATH respectively a third time winner at Chelmsford on October, 7 for Pier House Stud and a first time scorer at Navan on October, 6 for breeder Bernard Cooke.


Tally-Ho Styd based GALILEO GOLD continued his round of victories with his first two-year-olds with BOGOTA GOLD claiming the first place at Siracusa, Italy on October, 9.


TORONADO was once again celebrated on the other side of the planet with CIRRINA defeating his 14 rivals on October, 7 at Mornington and TEDDY MERCURY crossing the finish line first on October, 8 at Cloncurry, Australia.


Last but not least, the ever consistent son of RULER OF THE WORLD MAJOR SNUGFIT was seen for the fifth time in the winners’ enclosure on October, 8 at Newcastle, UK for breeder Ms H. Steel.
