New Stakes glory for Mehmas & Toronado

Haras de Bouquetot-based sire AL WUKAIR celebrated his 11th first crop winner with B. Vitale Brovarone-owned and bred KHAMMA breaking her maiden by 4 lengths over the 1,100 meters of Le Mans racecourse, France on October, 17.

ZELZAL boosted his two-year-olds’ record with an impressive ratio of 45% winners to runners following two beautiful victories this week. Haras d’Etreham-bred MOOREANITY lost his maiden tag at second asking at Marseille-Borely, France on October, 16 with AL WUKAIR’s ALROMY back in second. A few days earlier, DOLCE ZEL earned the title of ZELZAL's 8th individual first crop winner when the Scuderia Micolo’s homebred went from last to first at ParisLongchamp, France to emulate her sire’s devastating turn-of-foot on her second run only.

Currently leader of the French-based second crop sires, and one of the best French-based sires of three-year-olds, our stallion SHALAA is also showing plenty of promises with his second crop of two-year-olds headed by the likes of debut winners WELWAL and EXIGENCY. KM Al Attiyah, Ecurie de Castillon Bloodstock, Chauvigny Global Equine and Riverview Bloodstock Ltd-bred SUPER KHALI became his 9th two-year-old winner when deservedly breaking his maiden at ParisLongchamp, France on October, 14. Earlier in the week on the other side of the planet, two-year-old OKAMI MISS was crossing the finish line first at Hawkesbury, Australia.

Tally-Ho Stud-based MEHMAS sired his 16th individual Stakes winner this week with the success of Ms Barbel Reiss-bred POWER UNDER ME in the Listed Waterford Testimonial Stakes at the Curragh, Ireland on October, 11, the three-year-old crossing the finish line first with a nearly 3 lengths margin. On the very same day and on the same racecourse, two-year-old TARTAN SKIRT opened his winning account by 2 lengths on his second start only for breeder Tally-Ho Stud. Second double of scorers of the week was celebrated on October, 12 with three-year-old CAPTAIN VALLO getting the best of his 13 rivals at Newcastle, GB for breeder Tally-Ho Stud and two-year-old HURRY UP HEDLEY storming home to win by 4 lengths at Leicester, UK for breeder Patrick Monahan.

GALILEO GOLD continued his round of successes with his two-year-olds, highlighted this week by SWEET MADNESS who secured for Tally-Ho Stud his second consecutive victory at Nottingham, UK.

Impressive TORONADO celebrated a new Stakes victory with his four-year-old BOIS D’ARGENT showing brave to prevail in a thrilling finish in the Listed Prix du Ranelagh on October, 18 at ParisLongchamp, France. Bred by Haras de Bourgeauville, he is a half-brother to GRAND GLORY who recently landed the G1 Prix Jean Romanet for our stallion OLYMPIC GLORY. A few minutes later during the day, Haras d’Etreham-bred CAPABLE registered his second career win at Hyères, France. It was no less than four international heroes celebrated on October, 16 : Stilvi Compania Financiera SA and Alain Jathière-bred three-year-old AMAZONIE secured his third victory of the season at Marseille-Borely, France, while three-year-old TOBY XPRESS was breaking his maiden tag at second asking at Avoca, Australia. Down-under, VALIDAR was also seen in the winners’ enclosure and HELUSHKA was celebrated at Kranji, Hong-Kong.

OLYMPIC GLORY was once again in the winners’ enclosure with two-year-old GRIFFE DE CHAT sticking out the claws on October, 13 at Varese, Italy and DUCHESS OF GLORY proving best in a handicap at Toulouse, France on October, 15.

New success celebrated for our colors courtesy to LAFAN who scored again at Kempton, UK on October, 13. Our Richard Hannon-trained three-year-old proved a progressive sort, winning a Class 4 handicap over the mile under the ride of S. Levey.

Congratulations to all connections!
