Stellar week for our stallions and colors

Star sire MEHMAS celebrated two new Stakes performances this week, with nearly a winner per day in addition. LUSAIL shows even more impressive when matching his sire’s July Stakes victory on July, 8 at Newmarket and gave his best under our colors for a decisive win in the coveted G2 Tattersalls July Stakes. Ridden by Pat Dobbs and bred by Tally-Ho Stud where MEHMAS’ stands, our two-year-old is excitingly trained by Richard Hannon just like his sire was back in 2016. Three-year-old ROYAL MEHMAS was the second Stakes performer of the week when finishing third in the Listed Pr. Citta’ Di Napoli on July, 10 at Napoli, Italy for breeder Paul and Billy McEnery. He was one of three winners on the same day, with three-year-olds FOOLS RUSH IN securing a fourth success at Chester, UK for breeder Stephanie Hanly and AMAZING EMMA proving best for the second time at Navan, UK for breeder J. and L. McAteer.

Additional scorers of the week for MEHMAS included consistent three-year-old COOPERATION who claimed a handicap success at Ripon, UK on July, 5 for Pier House Stud and Tally-Ho Stud-bred juveniles SCOT’S GRACE, ROBASTA and HAPIPI GO LUCKY who broke all their maiden tag respectively at Kempton, UK on July, 7 on first appearance, at Ascot, UK on July, 9 and at Fairyhouse, UK on July, 11 on second start only.

Haras de Bouquetot-based freshman sire ZELZAL brought his statistics to 2 winners and 4 placed horses out of 8 starters to date with a spectacular exacta at Saint-Cloud on July, 9 in a 6 furlongs maiden for unraced two-year-olds. ZELDA destroyed opposition when a fast finishing last to first on debut run, with DE VALARA showing plenty of quality to hold off his opponents to secure the second place. Two-year-old bred by Haras de Castillon and SCEA des Prairies, ZELDA is the half-sister to the undefeated son of MEHMAS’ CHEZ PIERRE while Ecurie Ascot-bred DE VALARA is out of the Kheleyf mare ASCOT GLORY.

ZELZAL’s tally of first crop winners was also boosted by the success of KM Al Attiyah-bred OURAIKA who broke her maiden tag on July, 11 at Dax, France on her second start only.

Freshman sire AL WUKAIR entered the fray with homebred WAGGAD scoring on debut at Chantilly on July, 7 to become his sire’s third individual scorer out of 10 runners to date. In the care of André Fabre just like his sire AL WUKAIR was, our two-year-old showed plenty of determination to break his maiden against more experienced horses under the ride of Hugo Besnier. Bred at Haras de Bouquetot, he is out of the New Approach unraced mare ORAYDA.

SHALAA claimed a new victory on the other side of the planet with juvenile REVIVALIST opening his winning account over the 1,200 Australian meters of Newcastle on July, 10.

GALILEO GOLD increased his impressive numbers with M.Phelan-bred THE WIZARD OF EYE defeating his 18 rivals at Newbury, Uk on July, 8 to break his maiden tag by 3 1/2 lengths on his second appearance only.

Highly impressive TORONADO celebrated his 39th worldwide Stakes performer and 20th blacktype horse of the year with four-year-old multiple winner FENDER who finished third in the 1,200 meters Listed Grafton Services Club Ramornie at Grafton on July, 7. A number swiftly updated with two-year-old MISS CLEOPATRA who jumped from last to second to finish excellent runner-up in the Listed Prix Roland de Chambure at Deauville on July, 11 following two wins out of two starts for breeders Haras du Grand Lys and G. Berardelli. Additional heroes of the day included three-year-old first time winner and R. Corveller-bred BALEGRIO at Castera-Verduzan, France and four-year-old LACIREDESKI at Mulheim, Germany.

MAYFAIR POMPETTE set the ball rolling of a new week of successes for TORONADO, with nearly a winner per day all over the planet. The Deveron-bred mare was a two-lengths winner on seasonal comeback at Windsor, UK on July 5. Group-placed MOUILLAGE boosted his impressive record with a third success in a 1,600 meters Class 1 at La Teste-de-Buch, France on July, 6, his third to date for breeder Mrs F. Perrée. Three-year-old MONA LISA KLAXON collected a second victory by 2,5 lengths for breeders Mandore International Agency over the 1,400 meters of Nantes racecourse, France on July, 8. The week ended with a duet of three-year-old scorers in Australia, HIGHLY RIGHTEOUS defeating 12 rivals to claim a second consecutive victory at Racing.com Park Syn and second time winner ZOROCAT crossing the finish line first with a 3,3 lengths margin at Randwick.

Following MEHMAS’ LUSAIL victory in the G2 Tattersalls July Stakes, our three homebreds AL WUKAIR’S WAGGAD, AL HAWRA and WAHRAAN all showed highly impressive on the track on both sides of the Channel sea. AL HAWARA was back to winning ways at Dax, France on July, 11 to land her third career victory under the care of Simone Brogi and the ride of Jean-Bernard Eyquem. Raised at Haras de Bouquetot, our three-year-old is a daughter of Wootton Bassett out of SALWA by Galileo. Sir Michael Stoute-trained WAHRAAN justified favoritism at Pontefract, UK on July, 6 to break his maiden under a powerful ride from Ryan Moore. Bred at Haras de Bouquetot, our three-year-old is a son of Le Havre out of the Galileo mare AL JASSASIYAH.

Congratulations to all connections!
