Victories all over the planet

New victories for our colors celebrated on both sides of the Atlantic Sea this week. Our homebred MERZAZ broke his maiden in style on his second start at Gulfstream Park, USA. This son of MSHAWISH and G1 winner EDEN’s MOON is entrusted to Ralph Nicks and was ridden by Emisael Jaramillo. Andrew Balding-trained AL MARMAR was the second celebrated and started the new year with a bang when breaking his maiden tag by 6 lengths at Lingfield, UK on his second start only under the ride of David Probert.

It was also an international round of victories for our Haras de Bouquetot-based stallion TORONADO, starting with a treble of winners on both sides of the planet on January, 5. Smarden Thoroughbreds-bred BELLA COLOROSSA smashed the opposition with a 4 ¾ lengths-victory at Kempton, GB on her seasonal comeback, while in Australia TORONADO PHANTOM collected a second victory at Happy Valley and PRISONER’S DILEMMA secured a second consecutive win at Dundalk. TORONADO also celebrated an international double of winners each day of the weekend. January, 8 honored COME RIGHT BACK with a new success over the 2,200 meters of Ascot, Australia, as well as MONA LISA KLAXON with a fifth victory for breeder Mandore International Agency in a handicap race at Deauville, France. The following day, AMALFI SPRITZ broke his maiden tag at Warnambool, Australia and CAPABLE started 2022 the same successful way he ended 2021, with a new success for breeder Haras d’Etreham.

Haras de Bouquetot-based and Tally-Ho Stud-based respectively stallions AL WUKAIR and GALILEO GOLD celebrated both their first victories of the season with their three-year-olds. Haras de l’Hirondelle-bred three-year-old LILAS DE FRANCE opened her winning account at Lyon-la Soie, France on January, 9, with C. Mather-bred MAXINE back in second for a 1-2 for AL WUKAIR.

In the USA, GALILEO GOLD’s three-year-old SHUT UP MICHAEL got the best of his opponents to cross the finish line first at Santa Anita.

Down-under, OLYMPIC GLORY was seen in the winners’ enclosure with five-year-old UNDER THE PUMP breaking his maiden at Port Macquarie, Australia on January, 7.

Congratulations to all connections!
